Heat Pump Grants
Heat pump grants are available now for eligible households via the ECO4 grant scheme. While heat pump installs are on the rise, heat pump technology, in varying forms, has been around for over 160 years! This energy efficient system can work in many homes reducing the carbon footprint of the home whilst saving the consumer money. Heat pumps make an ideal replacement for your old costly boiler. Fairway Energy heat pump installers are fully trained to survey, and install heat pump systems that stand the test of time.

How Do Air Source Heat Pumps Work?
Air source heat pumps (ASHPs) that don’t use F-gases operate on the principle of extracting heat from the ambient air and transferring it into a building to provide heating and sometimes cooling.
Here’s how they work:
The ASHP contains a refrigerant, typically a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) or a hydrocarbon, which circulates through the system. The outdoor unit of the ASHP contains a coil filled with this refrigerant.
By continuously extracting heat from the outdoor air and transferring it indoors, ASHPs can efficiently provide heating for buildings. Additionally, some ASHPs are equipped with a reversing valve that allows them to operate in reverse during warmer months, extracting heat from indoors and releasing it outdoors to provide cooling.

Got A Question About Your New Heat Pump?
As part of the survey we will carry out on your home, our surveyors will assess the level of insulation your home requires, as this is essential for the efficiency of your new heat pump. Furthermore, we will check the space around your home to determine whether there is enough airflow as this powers the heat pump. Likewise, we can consider whether a combination of an ASHP and solar panels will be right for your property. All this can be installed under the ECO grant scheme and will be discussed with you in more detail.
